Acceptable Usage

So you wanna use our pictures, eh? Well, feel free to do so, so long as you follow a few courtesies.

  • Please do link to any page on the site. It brings endless joy to my pathetic existence.
  • Please don't link directly to any downloadable files, or images, without our express permission. It is in poor taste and considered by many to constitute theft of bandwidth.  Besides, Macalicious won't be held responsible for broken links (bones, hearts, promises, etc. ), resulting from us changing files' names.  And we will.
  • And don't forget, while all creations here are the copyrighted intellectual property of Macalicious.net, (and all rights are reserved), the trademarks of other companies remain their property.   It is considered polite to mention that somewhere on your own website.  And besides, it's not only polite, they are completely within their rights to send you nasty letters from their sharks lawyers threatening dismemberment legal action if you don't.
  • Please do feel free to drop a note.   Feedback is always lovingly received, not least because no one ever seems to bother.  Praise, suggestions, kinky naked photos, it doesn't matter.  All are most useful.
  • And oh yes, I nearly forgot this. Please spell-check your work, and check your grammar too.  There will be a quiz after class.  And remember, one's station in life is determined by his or her mastery of the English language; and one should attempt to avoid ending their sentences with prepositions.  (No joke! It's in the rule book ;–).  This being the web, slang is perfectly acceptable, as are words of your own creation, and even idiosyncratic grammatical eccentricities.  Just be consistent.  (See, we're not grammar nazis!) And no, before you even ask, you are not allowed to claim a failure to follow the general rules of grammar as your own personal grammatical eccentricity -- that's cheating.
  • [June 2003] For the first time ever, I find myself having to add to the acceptable usage page, rather than chopping out superfluous verbiage.  Sadly, some people just don't seem to get it.  Due to a recent occurrence of theft, I guess I'll have to spell this out more clearly:  Please don't take my artwork and pass it off as your own.  Feel free to use it.  Feel free to alter, morph, destroy, or otherwise maim my work.  And heck, if you change it so much that it feels like your own, claim it as such.  Just use common sense, please.  Re-sizing an image does not constitute changing it to such a degree that you can then claim it as your own.
  • The artwork here at the site may NOT be re-sold, nor included in a for-profit project without my express permission.  Ask nicely, and the answer shall almost certainly be yes.  Do it on the sly, and I will drag your name through the mud.
